Searching the directory

There are two main ways to find the information you are looking for:

General Search

You can search from a list to find the subject or information you are interested in.

1. Click on one of the four zones featured on the main page:
   • Children’s Zone
   • Young People’s Zone
   • Parent/Carer Zone
   • Practitioner's Zone
2. Choose a category from the list on screen
3. Select a sub category
4. Select an organisation or service from the A-Z list

More detailed information will appear on the screen including contact details, opening hours and costs.

Specific Search

There are two types of specific searches available:

• Keyword Search
• Postcode Search

a) Keyword Search

The keyword search allows you to search for a service or organisation by typing a keyword in the box on the main page. For example, football, yoga, counselling, drugs etc. A list will appear of all the services/organisations that have your keyword in the title or details section.

When searching for a term or combination of two or more words, type the words in quotation marks in the search box to get the most relevant information eg. "parenting support".

b) Postcode Search

The postcode search allows you to search for a service or organisation by location. Type in a postcode (this could be where you live or work e.g. YO1 6JQ). You can access a list of services and organisations in your local area or close to work etc.

To print any information select the print this page button before printing.
